Post Birthday Update

Greetings all,

It’s been a few days since I have posted, so I thought I would grab at an opportunity and let everyone know what’s going on. Had a great birthday, thanks to everyone for all of the birthday wishes.

Been a crazy couple of weeks, with all of the snow cleanup, school closings and things to do. But it has all been great.

I am really getting excited about NCAA and SEC tournament time just around the bend. Out CATS are doing great this season and I think we have a really good shot at cutting down the nets in Indy this March. Even if we don’t, it has still been a great ride. Our fabulous freshmen have really stepped up in late season SEC play and are growing by leaps and bounds every game. With that, Carrie and I are heading to Rupp this Thursday night for some payback. We are hosting the South Carolina Gamecocks and I think it turned out to be a pretty good game to get tickets for.

I have finally started using my twitter account more frequently and have gotten over my shyness. Thanks to all of my new followers. If you would like to follow me, click the “follow” link on the side bar of this blog page. Or you can just visit this page to keep up with my tweets.

That’s all for now…Check back soon!

Preparing for my BIG weekend!

There are 3 big items on tap this snowy weekend.

I will be celebrating 40 years of a wonderful life with the aid of family and friends on the 14th. Yes Valentine’s Day. Sometimes I feel as though the people that I love in my life get the shaft on this day due to the fact that we all are focused on celebrating my birthday rather than the special day for the one’s we love. But, when I dig deeper, I think about what is important on that day. I personally feel that is doesn’t matter if it’s my birthday or Valentine’s Day, it’s about spending time with the one’s you love and letting all of them know how special you are in their lives. Sure 40 is a milestone for me in my life, but what really matters is my friends, family and my 3 girls. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all of the support and love I have received from everyone over the years, so thanks to everyone (you all know who you are) and I love you all so much!!

2nd on the list is that my University of Kentucky Wildcats are in Rupp arena this weekend to take on the Tennessee Volunteers on prime time ESPN. College game day baby!! As Dickie V would say… Anyway, whenever my beloved Wildcats are playing, it’s a good day. Not to mention we are meeting some GREAT friends for dinner that night. Thanks Jason and Jen for being there for me. There will be some good ole Kentucky Bourbon consumed Saturday evening for sure, and I would imagine Ethan will have to beat me at some of the wii games.

3rd on the list is the fact that with me being a Federal Government employee and Carrie being a State Government employee, the Young family has Monday off for Presidents Day. I am sure we will get into something fun, but may take the day to recover from an event filled weekend.

Everyone enjoy your weekend!!

Anna's Valentines Day Party

I attended a Valentines Day party for Anna's pre school class. She had a great time and it was cute seeing all of her classmates running around hopped up on Valentines sweets.

Bath Time!!

Every night during the summer and every other in the winter, I get to spend some quality time with my oldest daughter Anna. I give her a bath, read her a story and put her to bed. Strictly stories on the off nights, but they are still great for the soul. We have truly "serious" conversations about life, activities we may be doing the next day, or about what episode of Sponge Bob she watched that particular evening. The most important thing is that we have that time to relax and enjoy each others company before she drifts off to sleep. I am currently laying in bed typing this giving her some play time in the tub before we wash and get ready for bed.

I hope to keep this blog going and share things about my life from my perspective. You will soon here about my youngest angel and my wife. They are both currently in the family room watching Big Brother or Road Rules getting ready to turn in for the night.

Not a bad first day of blogging. Good night.

Snow Snow Snow!!!

The Northern Kentucky area, like many others in the US, are receiving several inches of "global warming"!!  Working from home today and we are experiencing some drifting snow due to the high winds.  This is by far the biggest snow storm of the year so far for the Northern Kentucky area.
